In May I wrote that Iron and Ember was our first group. Closed on purpose. And that as Christ Fields grew, new groups would form. Different cities. Different names. Same principles.
That is not how it grew.
What we learned
The closeness never lived at the community level. It lived in the small circle. A room of ten people who kept showing up for each other. That is where the honest conversations happened, where praying for each other by name changed things.
But something else kept happening too. The whole body wanted to do things together. The trips. The meals. The big days. Those did not belong to any one circle. They belonged to everyone.
So the structure we had drawn on paper, separate groups with separate names, was fighting the thing that was actually alive.
The new shape
Iron and Ember is the FaithFlow community. Everyone who joins FaithFlow joins Iron and Ember. One name, shared by everyone.
The big things happen at the community level. Events, trips, shared life. The whole body, together.
Inside the community, small groups form. Each one stays small, around ten people, led by a leader who knows the people in it. That is where the deep history gets built. The small group is where you are known. The community is where we go together.
Same principles as day one. Scripture as the actual ground, not a backdrop. Prayer by name. Showing up in person. Faithfulness over hype.
Correcting myself in public
In May I said we were not expanding Iron and Ember, and that future groups would be peers of it with their own names. The structure went a different way, and I would rather say that plainly than quietly edit history. The old post stays up as a record of where this started.
What this means if you are reading from outside
Joining FaithFlow means joining Iron and Ember. It is still in person. It still begins with a real conversation, not a signup flow. From there, you find your way into a small group with a leader who will actually know you.
If something in this pulls at you, the form on /faithflow is where to send a real message. Not an application. A note. We respond personally.
